Regarding the Ark-La-Tex AG Council
Local agricultural officials conducted an extensive study in 1970, which resulted in the formation of the Ark-La-Tex Agricultural Council.
It was proposed that an agricultural council be constituted and presented to the Board of Directors of the Louisiana State Fair.
This group was to be made up of notable and powerful persons who demonstrated an interest in the promotion and expansion of agriculture throughout the region.
The group of interested and determined persons began working, and preparations for the formation of the Agricultural Council began to emerge.
They are committed to stimulating, promoting, and supporting the production, management, and sale of agricultural products, particularly livestock and animal byproducts.
