AI Disclosure

What our labels mean

No label means a human wrote it. "AI-assisted" means a human wrote and reported it using machine tools for transcription, translation or research. "AI-generated, human-edited" means a draft was machine-produced and a named journalist verified and rewrote it before publication.

Who applies the label

An editor, always. Nothing on this site is labelled automatically, and no label is applied after publication to explain away an error.

Our hard limits

No generated quotes. No generated statistics. No generated sources or citations. No synthetic imagery depicting real events, real places or real people.

Accountability

A named human is responsible for every story regardless of how it was drafted. "The tool got it wrong" is not an explanation we will offer.
