What we require of journalists

Anyone writing for AgriTalker declares financial interests, paid work, board positions, and family connections in the sectors they cover. A declared interest is managed; an undeclared one is a disciplinary matter.

How conflicts are handled

The usual answer is reassignment. Where reassignment is not possible and the story matters, the interest is disclosed prominently in the story itself so readers can weigh it.

Institutional conflicts

Where AgriTalker reports on an advertiser, a funder, a partner or its own owners, the relationship is disclosed in the story every time.

Gifts, travel and hospitality

Not accepted from organisations we cover beyond the trivial. Where travel is funded to make reporting possible at all, the funder is named in the story.
