Internationalisation Grant Overview

Internalisation Grants allow SMEs to explore new markets or increase their ability to compete abroad.

The Eurocluster INGENIOUS helps Europe’s industry acquire sovereignty, promote competitive sustainability, become the world’s first carbon-neutral continent by 2050, and determine Europe’s digital future.

INGENIOUS places a special emphasis on SME support because they are the backbone of the economy, and will assist them with new steps toward resilience and the green and digital transition.

The INGENIOUS project leverages three financing tools to help enterprises deploy extremely creative solutions. The total amount of direct financial support for SMEs under the INGENIOUS programme is €1.05 million.

The applicants can only apply for one Internationalisation Grant (one grant costing € 2500), with the total maximum financing for each SME being € 60.000, including all financial support to third parties (innovation grants and training grants) under the INGENIOUS initiative.

Eligibility of the Internationalisation Grant

  • The Internationalisation Grants are intended for small and medium-sized firms (SMEs) that will choose any country from the main focus.
  • Applicants must submit their application through the INGENIOUS website, using the application form.
  • Internationalization grants – INGENIOUS (ingenious-eurocluster.eu)
  • A motivation letter (not exceeding two DIN A4 pages) must be filled out in the template from INGENIOUS.

To be eligible for Internationalisation Grants, each submitted proposal must meet the following requirements:

  • Internationalization initiatives should address one of the above-mentioned key target destinations (Africa, Asia, North and Latin America).
  • Applications must be written in English. Applications that are partially written in another language are not accepted.
  • Applicants must be a SME.

Applicants must be based in one of the qualified countries, namely:

  • EU member states (including OCTs) and Ukraine
  • EEA countries and countries associated with the COSME sector of the Single Market.
  • Program or nations that are in continuous discussions for an association agreement and where the agreement enters into force before grant signature.
  • Applicants can only apply for one INGENIOUS Internationalisation Grant; nevertheless, a total funding limit of € 60.000 per applicant applies.
  • All required fields in the template must be filled in.
  • Only the templates provided on the INGENIOUS website will be eligible.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the need for the mission to the target country in a motivation letter that is examined and approved by the INGENIOUS responsible.
  • Members of the cluster organisations involved in the project are eligible to apply, however project partners are not.
