Chinda said,

“The creation of the LGPMC is an important milestone, and I want to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude to the community leaders, representatives, and all the members of this committee. Your willingness to serve in this capacity is a testament to your dedication to the well-being and progress of our local areas.”

“The ACReSAL project is not merely a government initiative; it is a testament to the power of community-driven development. It is a celebration of participatory governance and a reflection of our belief that local communities are best equipped to determine their own destinies.”

Comprising 105 members selected from all 21 local government areas, with five representatives per area, they are the linchpin in executing ACReSAL’s community-level objectives as per the prescribed model.

“This committee is not just a formality; it is the backbone of our project at the local level. Your roles, as outlined in the committee’s composition and responsibilities, are fundamental in ensuring that our project is aligned with the specific needs and aspirations of our communities,” he noted.

Chinda added that,

“The LGPMC will play a vital role in various aspects of project implementation, including community engagement, technical support, financial oversight, and the upholding of environmental and social safeguards. Your involvement in community sensitization, the formulation of Watershed Community-level Plans, and monitoring of project activities will be instrumental in achieving the ACReSAL project’s objectives.”

Every decision and action taken by this committee will directly impact the lives of the people they represent.

The call to work collaboratively and leverage the diverse expertise within the committee resonates strongly as the ACReSAL Project Coordinator and the entire project team stand ready to offer support, affirming that this endeavor is a partnership.

During the inauguration, LGPMC members received a comprehensive overview of the project’s aims, their indispensable roles in its progress, and how to effectively collaborate with the state project implementing unit, focal NGOs, and Community Interest Groups (CIGs).
