A much deeper understanding of the complex problems related to large-scale, industrial animal agriculture, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, as well as the need to translate that understanding into practical steps to address these issues.

The Funding Details

There are two categories of awards:

  • Category 1: $60,000 (for a single PhD-holder or a team of up to four with a PhD-holder serving as the lead/PI).
  • The award period is nine months. Recipients must specify a start date between August 30 and November 30, 2024.
  • Category 2: $45,000 (for a single individual PhD student nearing completion of PhD or a team of up to four individuals with a PhD student as lead/PI).

Tiny Beam Fund Fellowship Program Eligibility Criteria

  • Individuals receive fellowship grants. They might be academic or independent researchers. Both early-career and veteran academics are welcome to apply.
  • Applicants must hold or be nearing completion of a PhD (or similar degree).
  • There are generally no limits on an applicant’s place of residence or citizenship. However, they cannot provide payments to persons who are barred by US government sanctions and other regulations.
  • The United States government defines a fellowship as a sum provided or granted to an individual to aid that individual in the pursuit of personal research or study, with additional conditions set by the fellowship giver. Tiny Beam Fund’s BQI fellowship recipients may use their award funds for:
  • Travel costs
