Aspire Coronation Trust Foundation Grant Program in Africa

Application Deadline: November 10, 2023

The Aspire Coronation Trust Foundation is inviting applications for its grant program designed to provide support to local, national, and regional non-profit organizations as well as social enterprises actively engaged in addressing challenges and related vulnerabilities across the African continent.

The ACT Foundation is dedicated to endorsing sustainable, high-impact initiatives that offer innovative solutions to the social, economic, and environmental challenges prevalent in Africa. Their overarching vision is to harness partnerships to forge effective social impact solutions across the continent. Their mission is to foster sustainable societies by supporting initiatives that unlock potential and empower beneficiaries.

Focus Areas:

  • Health: Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, the foundation aims to ensure health and well-being, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized groups. They believe that robust health empowers individuals to lift themselves out of poverty and become productive members of society. They champion a range of programs and initiatives focused on Maternal and Child Health, and Non-Communicable Diseases.
  • Environment: The ACT Foundation is committed to supporting human endeavors that ensure access, availability, and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. They work towards creating inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities and human settlements. Additionally, they take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts on vulnerable communities in accordance with SDG Goals 6, 11, and 13. Their support extends to programs and initiatives in Integrated Waste Management, Access to Safe Drinking Water, and Climate Action.
  • Leadership: At the ACT Foundation, the objective is to nurture a new generation of credible, accountable, and ethical leaders who will spearhead initiatives promoting effective and sustainable economic and human development. The focus is on the development of individuals, especially young people and women, towards good governance, economic development, and organizational and professional growth. They lend their support to initiatives aimed at Youth Leadership, Thought Leadership, and National Development.
  • Entrepreneurship: Sustainable Development Goal 8 emphasizes the need to foster sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, along with full and productive employment and decent work for all. Research underscores the contribution of entrepreneurship to building resilient infrastructure, fostering inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and encouraging innovation. In this context, Africa’s rapid growth necessitates robust support for entrepreneurship to fuel economic progress, positively impacting communities and enhancing the well-being of underserved populations. The entrepreneurship intervention aims to bolster initiatives that enhance livelihoods through income generation and economic empowerment, thereby reducing poverty. The focus centers on the Acquisition of Vocational and Digital Skills, as well as Financial Literacy and inclusion.
