Osinbajo Takes the Helm in Advancing Climate Change Action Across Africa
In a significant move towards combating the effects of climate change in Africa, Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the charge.
This development comes on the heels of Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s impassioned address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), stressing the imperative for the global north to demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting developing nations in their battle against climate change impacts.
The Climate Action Platform for Africa (CAP-A) disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, formally appointing Osinbajo as the Chairman of its esteemed Board of Directors.
This organization, devoted to realising Africa’s potential as a central hub for climate action, emphasized that Osinbajo’s appointment takes immediate effect.
