Overview of the ProVeg Grants Program
ProVeg International provides expertise and support to high-potential organisations dedicated to improving the food system.
ProVeg Grants funds diet-change groups and projects that coincide with ProVeg’s objective of reducing global animal consumption by 50% by 2040.
The ProVeg Grants program is expediting the transformation of its food system by providing funding to organizations working in this critical endeavour. Since 2019, ProVeg International has awarded more than 500 grants to organizations and people in over 70 countries. They offer financial help as well as capacity-building assistance.
The Advantages of the ProVeg Grants Program
- Access to over 200 professionals.
- $5,000 to $50,000 each year.
- ProVeg Grants provides financial help ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 per year. While they would like to support all of the high-quality ideas that they receive, their grant funds are limited, thus not all applications will be accepted. In all circumstances, ProVeg International has exclusive discretion in providing funding.
- ProVeg Grantees have access to our network of over 200 professionals in the food-system reform field.
- Individual discussions
- They offer one-on-one consultations with grantees, giving guidance on organizational structure, strategy, impact projects, and other critical aspects of their work.
- Resources and Support
- They offer a variety of other materials throughout the year, including reports, research, webinars, and events.
ProVeg Grants Program Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be individuals or organizations focusing on food-system reform that want to execute one or more of the following interventions:
- Schools and University Engagement
- Reaching out to young people at an early age, either by making their meals more plant-friendly or directly educating them on the benefits of plant-based diets.
- Influencing Dietary Guidelines
- Encourage decision-makers to make dietary recommendations that include the full range of plant-based diets and contribute to meeting health and climate goals.
- Healthcare Interventions
- Corporate Collaboration
- Collaborating with businesses, decision-makers, and institutions to create, offer, and promote healthy, compassionate, and sustainable plant-based alternatives.
- Corporate Rankings
- Campaigning with rankings to raise public awareness about companies’ plant-based products.
- V-Label
- The V-Label is an internationally recognized, trademarked seal used to label vegan and vegetarian products, as well as a reliable resource for customers. By becoming a regional V-Label partner, you may generate consistent, recurring revenue while also providing a valuable tool for engaging with and promoting plant-based businesses.
- Labelling Limitations
- Campaigning against labelling regulations.
- Political Outreach
- Working with government and intergovernmental agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and researchers to develop plant-forward policies and practices.
- Movement Building
- Working to support other non-governmental organizations, partnerships, advocacy groups, and communities in their efforts to alter the food system.
- Challenge Campaigns
- Working with healthcare professionals to implement plant-based nutrition in healthcare.
- Food Industry Events
- Accelerating and enabling innovative food technology by bringing key players together at industry-specific events.
- Through exciting and engaging challenges, we help individuals and teams minimize their use of animal-based products.
- Veg Festivals
- Through in-person events, we hope to inspire and educate the general public about adopting a vegan lifestyle.
- Public Outreach and Social Media
- Providing inspiration and support to help individuals reduce and eliminate animal-derived items from their diets.
- Other criteria
- They emphasize ideas from countries other than the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Czechia, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Belgium, Nigeria, Malaysia, and the United States.
- They do not fund individuals or organisations working to improve the well-being and conditions of farm animals.
- They favour organizations led by and employing women, people of colour, and other marginalized groups.
- Grantees must support the ProVeg Grants program’s safe space and respectful workplace values.
Ineligible
- Animal welfare reforms or campaigns
- For-profit businesses
- Projects using animal-based items (animal-based food, leather, etc.)
- Projects or organizations that benefit, support, or are neutral to animal farming or other forms of animal exploitation
- Animal agriculture or other animal use
- Food banks, hunger relief, or food costs
- Gardening Projects
- Book production
- Animal Rescue or Care
- Political parties or candidate endorsements
- Legal defense
- Protests, marches, and vigils
- Tuition and student research
- Work in the United States or international chapters of US organizations.
