Small Grants Programme (Kosovo)

The Liaison Office of the Slovak Republic in Pristina, in collaboration with the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation, has issued a Call for Proposals for Small Grants, which focuses on supporting small-scale development projects and allows for a flexible, operational, and effective response to local development needs.

Eligibility Small Grants Programme (Kosovo)

  • A legal entity over which the Slovak Republic has a financial claim.
  • The call for proposals is open to registered participants.
  • Legal entities that are not entrepreneurial or commercial.
  • Nongovernmental groups
  • Local and regional self-government bodies.
  • The applicant cannot be.
  • A legal entity subject to an international sanction under the Slovak Republic’s Act No. 289/2016 Coll. on the Implementation of International Sanctions and the Amendment to Act No. 566/2001 Coll. on Securities and Investment Services, as well as the Amendment and Supplementation of Certain Acts.

Funding Details

  • Project duration ranges from 6 to 12 months.
  • The largest non-repayable financial contribution is 10,000 EUR per project.

Priority Areas

  • Good governance and civil society building include public sector reform, public finance management, support for the rule of law and civil society participation in democratic processes, capacity building for local governments and active citizen participation in community development, security sector reform, civilian crisis management activities, conflict prevention, and reconciliation support.
  • Food safety and agriculture entails implementing innovative techniques and procedures throughout the food chain, including agricultural product processing, marketing, sale, food security, and job creation.
  • Quality education entails education at all school levels, the acquisition of professional skills to enter the labor market and start one’s own business, the education of pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff, and the provision of school facilities.
  • Good health is defined as health care with a focus on women and children, nutrition programs, population education and awareness in the areas of prevention and health care, health professional education, and health facility equipment.
  • Infrastructure and sustainable use of resources from nature – water management, integrated management of water and other natural resources, revitalization and protection of endangered water resources, drinking water supply, wastewater treatment, waste management, raising environmental awareness, energy security, and the use of other sources of energy, sustainable settlement development, increasing resilience to natural disasters, such as climate change, and preserving soil.
  • Support for the development of a market environment, including support for micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, the introduction of new technologies, and employment creation.

The Cross-Cutting Concepts

  • The preferred sector is good governance and civil society development, focusing on human rights, the rule of law, and democracy.
  • Environment and climate change – assistance with climate change mitigation, boosting capacity to adapt to climate change, increasing ecosystem resilience, protecting nature, biodiversity, and soil, environmental monitoring; protection and promotion of the sustainable use of natural resources
  • Gender equality entails promoting equality with men and women, eliminating all forms of discrimination and violence against women and girls, including harmful practices and customs (such as early or forced marriages or female genital mutilation), and ensuring equal chances in society.
